Solar power lights up Sierra Leone rural hospitalsFebruary 9, 2012
A number of public hospitals in Sierra Leone, most of them in the rural areas, are being lit up by solar power.
WADR’s Freetown correspondent Mohamed Konneh Mohamed reports that inadequate electricity supply is one of the major challenges facing hospitals in the country.
The solar lights were made available by a group called Friends of Princes Christian Maternity Hospital (FPCHMH), with support from Dr. Laura Starcher from Ireland.
This will help ease the electricity problem in government run hospital, especially remote areas.
