Senegalese celebrate 52nd independence, new Premier named
The people of Senegal are on Wednesday, April 4 celebrating their 52nd independence anniversary from French colonial rule.
Their new President Macky Sall is presiding over his first national independence ceremony at Dakar’s Independence square, just three days after his inauguration.
On the eve of independence day, President Sall on Tuesday appointed a top Senegalese banker, Abdoul Mbaye as his first Prime Minister.
Mbaye’s appointment has brought to a close, speculations in the country over who President Sall’s choice of Prime Minister would be.
