Striking teachers in Ghana’s polytechnic institutions are facing opposition to their strike on two fronts: from the government and students.

The government says the strike is illegal and has order the teachers to end their industrial action, while the students union is urging their teachers to return to the classrooms in the wake of exams.

The Polytechnic Teachers on Monday said they were striking over the government’s failure to include them in the single spine salary structure.
