US$85m World Bank funds for electricity in Senegal
The World Bank has announced that it will provide 85 million US dollars to help Senegal solve its energy problem.
The announcement was made during a news conference in the Senegalese capital, Dakar on Tuesday held by the visiting World Bank Vice President for Africa, Makhtar Diop.
According to Diop, the World Bank is also ready to help Senegal to repatriate the country’s resources, which are displaced in an improper manner, through an instrument referred to as Star.
Diop is a Senegalese national who took over the post recently.
He said that would only depend on Senegalese authorities making the request to the bank.
